Games for Windows Kiosk
Client: Microsoft
Description: Looking to set up a Kiosk system which showcased the games from various developers falling under the Games for Windows umbrella, Microsoft turned to Protoscape. They needed a simple, yet dynamic interface which compelled users into interaction, drawing them into any of the various game demos and trailers, and encouraging further exploration. Behind all of this, they also requested the implementation of a tracking system that would log usage, which could be collected at a later time and analyzed. This alone presented an interesting design challenge, but because this system was to be distributed to retail outlets nationwide, the real obstacle was in making the entire system "fool proof.": The ability to hold users at a safe distance from the OS, taking into account real-world situations such as loss of power, or malicious activity, while still allowing full usage of games.
Project Roles: Graphic Design, User Interface Design, Motion Design, Flash Design, ActionScripting, c++ coding, JavaScripting, Kiosk programming. |

Description: Red Bull wanted a rich media website for their week-long Urban Dance camp. The site served two functions - first to generate interest and attract applicants and then afterwards, to serve as a showcase for video and photos taken during the event itself. Protoscape created an engrossing Flash-based site that used an eye-catching array of panels, tabs and interactive artwork to frame the streaming audio and video content.
